Her feast day is February 3rd — and she is an often forgotten part of the mid-winter deities that help us to go within and reconnect with the essence of our inner light — to connect us to the dreamworld, or vision, who we will be become once the ground thaws and the seeds sprout.
Sant’Agata is a deity of protection and reconnection — she is associated with the volcano, the fire that is within.
She is represented by holding her severed breasts. Her message for us is to remember who and what we are connected to, especially the land and the divine.
This winter we have the opportunity to get quiet, go within, and consider what matters to us.
In this video/storytelling/prompt DIY class, I tell the stories of Sant’Agata, the land, and her magic, in honor of her as a midwinter deity of fire, of regeneration, and of nourishment.
A mix of myth, oracle, ritual — this little bit of magic can hopefully invite and inspire you to deep winter, to reconnect, and to remember what you are devoted to — to carry with you out through the winter portal into the spring.
This class is about planting our seeds, deep in the warm belly of the volcano, the fire that lights are way, to shed our old skin, and to do the reconnection work we need.
