USEFUL GOODIES FOR YOU

SYMBOLIC ELEMENTS YOU MAY SEE IN SOME OF THE TRUMP CARDS {these can differ from schools of thought, but this is *this* school’s thought and also how Kim Kranz of The Wild Unknown has created her cards}

 WANDS = FIRE

CUPS= WATER

SWORDS= AIR

PENTACLES= EARTH

REVERSED CARDS

Here is my deal on reversed cards..  I take it in the moment. Reversed cards always mean something different to me depending on my situation, the question posed, what card falls before or after it, and also what is going on with the querent energetically.

*Sometimes I feel like they mean absolutely nothing. So I turn it over to right-side-up.

*Sometimes I feel like they mean we need to pay more attention to the message being sent through, that we are resisting the message, and that we need to open to it.

*Sometimes I feel it’s the exact opposite of what an upright card would feel like at that moment

*Sometimes I feel it’s something so beyond explanation that I can only explain it *in the moment*

*Sometimes it means whatever the book tells you it means, if you are looking at a guidebook and it feel right.

The bottom line is I truly think that the answer lies in the relationship between you and your cards and only you can say what a reversal means.  Think about it for a moment… when something is upside, what does it mean to you? What does the idea of upside down mean to you?  Play around with some cards in the moment:

*Ask a question

*Pull a card. Put it right side up. What do you feel?

*Pull another card around the same question. Put it upside down. What do you feel?

RITUAL WORK BEFORE YOU SIT WITH EACH CARD FOR THIS JOURNEY {and anytime you do, really}

Cleanse your space. This can be as simple as some really deep and vocal cleansing breaths or using smudge or using salt water, or using sound.  Whatever you want, with the intention that you are clearing space. Intention matters most. Always.

Observe and gaze at the card. Breathe it in. Look into it, not just at it.

Close your eyes and re-create the card in your mind’s eye, at the center of your head.  Allow your mind to re-create the image as it comes to you.

Notice the differences in what the card looks like and what you create in your own mind around the card.

Take note. Remember that. Draw upon both.

RENAMING EACH CARD

The cards have already been named. Some artists take liberty with naming these cards and veer away from the “traditional” naming of the cards. For instance Heirophant used to be High Priest.  Rachel Pollack calls The World card in her deck The Shining Women.  Each day as we spend time with the card, jot down the name *you’d* name the card.  Since we are spending 2 days with each card, the names might be different each day.  Naming is powerful.  In naming we give existence. In naming we get to *know* on a cellular level.

NAMING/SEEING THE CARD’S DIETY/GUIDES/DIVINITIES

The cards connect us to extremely potent energies. This I am very, very sure of.  They are like bridges from our spiritside to the other spiritside. And as a bridge we can walk over it and what’s on the other side can walk over to us. We become loving and attentive partners.

What’s on the other side? I believe each card has it’s own ‘guide’.  And maybe it’s a universal guide.  Or maybe each of our cards have their own unique guide.  I am not one to say and I truly trust Mystery on that one. But spend some time with the Guide{s} of each card. Who is it? What is his/her/their/its name? What messages does it bring to you about the card? To see that the card is beyond "a card" and actually has an energetic guide protecting and being a messanger, it becomes more real, all the more obvious that it’s our relationship with the cards that create total magic and sense, that make all this stuff really, really interesting, healing, useful and profound whether we are working with ourselves and/or working with others.

MEDITATE

Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. I cannot stress enough how much this helps. 5 minutes a day, any time that works for you. Any style you want. If you don’t meditate ask the folks in the FB group suggestions on what they do. Meditating helps root you down into the earth while expanding your 6th and opening your 7th Chakra for insight exchange.  It also helps you gather information from you own body wisdom. I personally do not do it enough, but try and when I do, my life totally changes and my readings become effortless and clear.  I am here to support you in any way with this. Meditate.

LOOK TO NATURE AND LIVE EACH CARD

As you are out and about, look to nature to find the cards. See examples of them everywhere. Breath in the messages. Live the card daily.  Show up as the card of the day while you look for examples in the world.  Live the tarot.   And oh how the stories will flow….
